The Tom Hessin Magnetic Series Poppy Red Fountain Pen & Ballpoint Pen Set is inspired by the historic Magnetic Works in Birmingham, where T. Hessin & Co once made pen nibs. Nibs were magnetised there to make them easier to handle, and Bullring market hawkers drew in passers-by by showing the magnetised nibs floating in water and pointing north.

This set brings together the Poppy Red fountain pen and ballpoint pen in a single gift box. Both pair a rich matt red lacquer with elegant matt black trim. Inspired by the vibrant poppy flower, the red and black palette symbolises hope, remembrance and new beginnings, and the precision guilloché barrels reinterpret the Hessin legacy diamond, taken from an old stamp found in the family archives.

The fountain pen is fitted with a smooth PVD black JoWo nib x Tom Hessin in your choice of Fine or Medium, with an irresistible magnetic cap close. The matching twist-action ballpoint gives a lovely laydown of ink on the page. Backed by a two-year mechanical warranty.
